Dogs like Domino, a pit bull who came to Seattle Humane badly scarred and fearful after having been in multiple dog fights, and not as the aggressor. We worried what the long-term effects from his past would be and how to help him succeed in a new home.

Nearly two months later, his new mom came and started him on the long road toward emotional healing so many shelter pets take once they go home. “The first two weeks especially were very challenging as he was very nervous, had diarrhea non-stop and was on very strong medication,” his mom says. But now, nearly three months later, Domino has done a lot of healing. He’s made great progress and is almost unrecognizable.
