| Hurricane Dorian Cats Rescued — and Adopted! Last week we welcomed a flight of cats and kittens affected by Hurricane Dorian's devastating impact on The Bahamas. This transfer was the most recent in a year that has brought more than 3,750 pets into Seattle Humane's care through our Life-Saver Rescue Program, which is also preparing for the arrival of animals impacted by the California wildfires.
The great news is that all of the kitties were adopted, including Chris (pictured above)! While some of the cats arrived needing medical care before they could be ready for adoption, they each received immediate medical attention and quickly recovered. And it's thanks to generous animal advocates like you who make animals a priority in our community.

And we know just the lady: Puma! This 12-year-old girl has a super cute, raspy meow and is the kind of kitty who wants to make you feel extra special. Once she bonds with you, she's the purr-fect friend.
Puma has been in our care since May, when her former family wasn't able to care for her any longer. She’s an older lady, so she would love to live the rest of her years in a quiet, loving home, free of young children and other pets. Because she’s uncomfortable in a shelter setting, she’s been living in foster care and hasn’t been able to show off how sweet and precious she is. Puma’s former companions have shared that she loves to cuddle and always wants to be in the same room as you. She enjoys sleeping, bird watching, and playing with feathered toys. In fact, she really likes chasing toys and hiding and sneaking up on them. She’s so cute and playful! Even though she’s a little older, you can instantly bring out her wild, silly side by tempting her with catnip, one of her favorite treats! She’s extremely food motivated, so bonding with her over treats is really special. She will need time and space to become completely comfortable in a new household, but she’s totally worth the wait. Once you open your heart to her, you’ll have a sweet, purring companion for life.
Can you change Puma’s life by giving her a loving home of her own? Contact our adoption team for more information at adoption@seattlehumane.org or (425) 649-7563. Due to the high volume of calls, our team will do their best to get back to you as soon as they can.
