When Georgia started getting tumors and nearly died after her last litter, her owner abandoned her in the woods, where she was lost and alone until a kind stranger found her and brought her to Seattle Humane. She was malnourished, sick and exhausted from overbreeding.

Gently and carefully, we nursed her back to health. She received food, treatment for her swollen paws and vaccinations. Most importantly, her interactions with humans were filled with love. It took time, but slowly and surely she regained her ability to trust in human kindness and learned to enjoy life outside of a tight cage. Her last days in our care were spent in the loving home of a shelter staff member getting all the love and comfort she could have ever dreamed of.
