How do you train a deaf dog?

Ice learns sign language

On average, nine dogs arrive at Battersea’s doors every day and receive ongoing training during their stays – loveable giant, Ice, was no exception. On arrival, the team realised that Ice was going to pose a different training challenge to most other dogs, as he was completely deaf.

A Battersea rescue

At just a few days old, Miss Honey, Von Trapp and Poppins were found in a cardboard box on the streets of London, cold and alone.

They arrived at Battersea in desperate need of a mother figure. One of our incredible volunteers took on the role as their foster mum. As a result, the tiny newborns were never short of the love and affection they truly needed.
