Save the Date for Giving Tuesday, December 3!

We’re just a few weeks away from the biggest day to give back! Every day, 365 days a year, Seattle Humane is welcoming adoptable pets through lifesaving transfers, working with community pet parents who need extra support to provide the care, training and medical support their pets need, and advocating for pets and their people. We need your support today to continue our important work! Be a hero for pets in need and make your special Giving Tuesday gift early.

Featured Pet: Iggy

Iggy is a fun-loving 1-year-old pit bull mix who has been looking for a new home at Seattle Humane since August. He was brought in by a person who said Iggy was pushed out of a blue Mustang in front of their property, the vehicle driving away as Iggy chased after it. Even after his rough landing, Iggy still loves car rides and going on adventures with our wonderful volunteers.

Iggy is a very affectionate and large dog at 75 pounds. He does well on walks and loves to stop and smell all of the trees and bushes. Iggy hasn’t had much experience having dog friends and would need to meet any other resident dogs at the shelter before heading home.

Iggy has struggled adapting to life in a shelter and he will need ample time to decompress and settle in his new home. His new family can name their adoption fee and put those savings toward lots of treats and training to help Iggy be successful in his new home. You can help by sharing his posts on Facebook or Instagram!

More than a Shelter: Warm Hearts, Full Bellies Pet Food Drive

Seattle Humane’s Warm Hearts, Full Bellies Pet Food Drive has officially kicked off!

Our Pet Food Bank started in 1983 with 15 volunteers and a $500 donation, and since then has provided vital pet food for the past 40+ years. Through growing and expanding community partnerships that include local food banks, churches and senior centers , the Pet Food Bank continues to be a crucial resource for pets and their families in our region.

We’re asking our community once again to drop off donations either here at the shelter (in the lower parking lot on the west side of the building at 13212 SE Eastgate Way, Bellevue), or order from our Amazon Wish List. More information is available at SeattleHumane.org/petfoodbank.

Thanks to your support, our food bank has provided nearly a million meals a year of donated pet food to families and food banks throughout the region. We are grateful to everyone who supports this enormous effort to keep families together—and so are the families!

Pies for Pups!

As the holidays draw near, treat yourself or your pup to some pie! Lentsch Culinary Services is generously hosting a Pies for Pups campaign that will run from November 20 - December 11. For every pie sold, the full proceeds will be donated to Seattle Humane. Indulge in their organic pies made from local ingredients and help them reach their goal of raising $5,000!

Although the campaign doesn't start until November 20, you can preorder your pies today. Pies can be picked up from their kitchen in Seattle’s Sodo district or delivered to your door. If you are able to swing by and pick up your pie, that would be a great help, and their team would love to say hello! Learn more and shop on their website.
