These Pets are H-O-T-T-O-G-O Home!

Seattle Humane is joining fellow animal shelters to participate once again in the national Clear the Shelters campaign. This is the 10th anniversary of Clear the Shelters, and the campaign is running August 10 through September 10, with the goal of finding loving families for as many pets as possible. Of course, our shelter will never truly be empty, because we are always pulling at-risk pets from overcrowded shelters here in Washington and across the country.

Now is a great time to find your new furry family member! In fact, adopters can name their own adoption fee through September 10 for special pets that are H-O-T-T-O-G-O home! Just look for the badge online and in the shelter to see which pets are part of this sizzling promotion! We also hope to give the Clear the Shelters campaign a boost with a one-day adoption event from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday, August 24. Our friends from Hill’s, Seattle Humane and Clear the Shelters sponsors, will be at the event handing out goodies.

Our shelter is full of fur-bulous pets like Zero waiting to be your new best friend!

Zero is a 7-year-old bull terrier mix who has been searching for a new family at Seattle Humane since March. He spent his whole life with his previous owner, who couldn’t keep him after they were deployed overseas. He’s a very smart and playful dog and gets along with children. Zero loves his people, so he would really benefit from living with a family who can spend time at home or take him along during their adventures. He knows sit, shake, lay down, speak and roll over and would love to learn more as long as he’s provided with tasty treats during his training.

He's spent more than two months in a loving foster home, and his foster mom says Zero is sweet, cuddly and highly food motivated. He loves to play fetch, tug and go zoom in the backyard. Come meet Zero or help him find his people by sharing his posts on Facebook or Instagram!

More than a Shelter: Celebrating Summer Camp

As summer comes to an end, we reflect with joy on the success of our Summer Camp at Seattle Humane, made possible by the enthusiasm of our over 250 young campers and the dedication of our staff and volunteers. This year’s camp allowed children to bond with shelter animals, engage in educational activities about animal care, and create enriching toys for the animals. The positive impact on both the animals and campers was truly inspiring. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the families who supported the camp, helping us further our mission of animal care and finding loving homes. We look forward to welcoming your child back next year for more unforgettable experiences!

Protect the People & Causes You Love

Did you know August is National Make-A-Will Month? By creating your will this month, you can get peace of mind for the future and provide for the people and pets you love, so you know they will be supported no matter what. Your will can even extend your passion for animals by offering ongoing support to Seattle Humane, where every pet is given a chance at a better life. Nearly 67% of American adults don't have a will, and we’re sharing a free, online will-writing tool from FreeWill so 100% of our Rescue Squad can protect the people and causes they love.
