| Dear aze, You may have seen in the news that Mason County authorities are investigating an animal cruelty case involving 67 dogs and one horse found without access to food or water in a rural residential neighborhood. Shepherds, pyrenees, chihuahuas, dachshunds, poodles and a large number of huskies were barking for help as loudly as they could muster—some unable to stand on their own. Several of the dogs were found with duct tape residue around their mouths. Seattle Humane was proud to work with our shelter partners on the scene and brought 14 pups back to our shelter for care. All animals at that site have been removed and are safe with animal rescue and shelter organizations. Every one of them is receiving the food, shelter and expert care they deserve while they are being placed in loving foster homes. The road to recovery will be long—but we are committed to healing their emotional and physical wounds from the horrific abuse they've endured. |

| | We lean on our extraordinary community to save and serve our community's most vulnerable pets—and I'm hoping we can come together to help the 14 victims of this cruelty investigation in the care of Seattle Humane. That's why I'm asking you to please make an urgent gift now to help cover the extensive stay and specialized medical and behavioral care these dogs will need over the coming weeks. A gift of any amount will mean the world to these pups! |
