When a rescue partner asked if we’d take Midnight, a 4-month-old Labrador puppy with undiagnosed lameness in both rear legs, our answer was: Yes, of course! They knew we had expert veterinary staff to treat Midnight’s medical condition and a safe space in our Puppy Nursery for him to heal.
X-rays revealed that Midnight was suffering from avulsion fractures—an often-painful separation of a small bone from the shinbone or tibia by the pull of the quadriceps muscle group. Fortunately, Midnight will recover with medication and careful monitoring from staff and volunteers.
The cost of operations at our shelter has surged, creating a critical funding gap that could affect the life-changing care we provide to our community's pets and pet families.
Over 83 percent of our funding comes from grassroots donations and planned gifts. This means our ability to save lives and support pet families depends on the kindness of caring people like you.
Please seize the moment and give now to double the impact of your gift. Help us close this funding gap quickly to ensure no pet goes without the love and care they deserve.
