“They came in super dirty and with bellies full of worms.”
Here’s the harsh reality: Approximately 6.3 million pets enter animal shelters nationwide every year, according to the ASPCA—often into shelters that do not have adequate space or resources. So, when Seattle Humane received a call from a small shelter about a mother who was fatally shot protecting her six vulnerable pups, we activated our Rescue Squad and jumped into action.
“They came in super dirty and with bellies full of worms,” describes Seattle Humane Foster Program Manager Anna Sernau. After a comprehensive exam, medication, bath and immediate placement with a foster family, these sweet pups are well on their way to recovery.
We’re committed to being there for pets who deserve the happiness of a loving family—and that’s why we need you! Seattle Humane’s 125th Anniversary Day of Giving is on September 16 and we are counting on people like you who have a heart for pets in need.
Our goal is to raise $175,000 by September 16 to connect pets and their people with more lifesaving care and services than ever before. It’s never too early to make your generous gift and support this important fundraiser!
It’s a big goal, but we know our neighbors and friends understand the vital importance of our mission to help save lives and complete families. Thank you for making a difference!
