Seattle Humane Updates

Important updates from Seattle Humane

This morning, David Loewe resigned from his role as CEO of Seattle Humane, suggesting, “it’s been an incredible journey and an honor to work alongside such an amazing team.”

On behalf of our board, I would like to thank David for his contributions to our institution, our people and the animals in our care over the past 14 years as a volunteer, COO, and CEO. David has helped put us in a position to be a true shining light in animal welfare that goes well beyond the borders of our shelter, King County and even the State of Washington. We wish him well in his next endeavors whether he answers the call of retirement or another siren.

The board has convened a subcommittee to conduct a nation-wide search for a new CEO. The subcommittee will include representation from the board, Seattle Humane Staff, and our volunteer community.

In the interim, Jim Linardos, a long-time board member and Seattle Humane advocate, has agreed to step into a temporary role as CEO. Two other board members, Janette Adamucci and Franz Lazarus, have agreed to help Jim during this transition period. All three will work closely with the senior leadership of Seattle Humane until a new permanent CEO is named. We are so lucky to have all three volunteer their time and considerable expertise over the next few months.

Our board and the leadership team look forward to working with all of you on the next step of our journey.

Best,
