Help Send Someone "Over the Edge"

to Save Pets in Need

Over the Edge 2019

With less than three weeks left for our Mission Impawsible fundraiser, we need YOUR help sending people “Over the Edge” to help pets in need! Our “Stunt People” are each trying to raise $2,500 by July 20 for the opportunity to rappel down a 40-story Seattle skyscraper! Even if you can’t go “Over the Edge,” you can support our life-saving efforts by donating to a campaign. You won’t just be helping one of our fundraisers accomplish the life-changing experience of rappelling down a building, you’ll be helping pets have a second chance at life.

LIMITED-TIME OFFER! Be one of the next people to register to start a fundraiser, and you can take a friend down with you by reaching the $2,500 fundraising goal. It's easier than you think!

Donate or register here!

Are You Prepared for Summer Travel?summer-cat.jpg

Summer is here, and for many of us that means traveling to visit family or enjoying a favorite vacation spot. Travel preparation can include arranging for a neighbor to check on your house or dropping off your pets at their favorite pet sitter. Another preparation that’s just as important but often overlooked is making sure documents such as your will and durable power of attorney are updated and easily accessible, should they be needed. If you want to include a legacy gift to support the animals at Seattle Humane in your updated will, here’s sample language to help you and your attorney draw up a bequest that meets your needs.

To learn more about how your gift will be put to use,
contact Scott Fraser, Esq., Seattle Humane’s Major and Planned
Giving Director, at (425) 373-5387 or scott@seattlehumane.org.

Pet Spotlight: Macready

macreadygood.jpg

Macready is a 10-year-old senior gentleman who loves food and a good chin scratch. In fact, he really enjoys being pampered with pets while he's eating. Like a typical cat, Macready loves sitting in boxes and scratching posts. He previously lived in foster care, where he lived with a resident cat. His foster parents shared that once he trusts you, he'll roll over and purr while you give him pets. On a serious note, the reason we think he might still be here is that he tends to communicate by hissing, but he doesn't show aggression. Just like with some people, Macready is usually curious yet cautious of new people. He wants to trust humans and other pets, but it just takes a little extra time with him. If you're looking for a confident, cool cat who knows what he wants, then Macready is your guy! He just needs a patient adopter who can make sure he has a comfortable transition.

To learn more about Macready, contact our adoption team by
emailing adoption@seattlehumane.org or calling (425) 649-7563.
