Updates from Seattle Humane    October 2018 eNews The 2018 Adoption Blitz is upon us! Seattle Humane's annual Adoption Blitz is right around the corner this Saturday, Oct. 6. Hundreds of families can adopt a dog, cat, puppy or kitten for a suggested donation in the place of regular adoption fees. “Our mission at Seattle Humane is to make owning a companion pet accessible to all King County-area residents," says Chief Operations Officer Lisa Drake. "Although our standard fees are low-cost, the Adoption Blitz helps us reach even more wonderful animal lovers who want to open their hearts and homes to an animal who needs a family." All dogs and cats are vaccinated, microchipped, health-checked and spayed or neutered. Dogs are temperament-tested and most dog adoptions include six weeks of on-campus training classes. Potential adopters can preview adoptable animals at seattlehumane.org and download a pre-adoption questionnaire.  Follow our Facebook page for Adoption Blitz updates!    Support Our Mission: Sign up your animal-loving kids for Movie Night! It's kids' night out at Seattle Humane! On Friday, Oct. 12, children ages 6 and older are invited to join us for a fun night of games, pizza, animals and a movie! Join Seattle Humane's Young Professionals Group for 2018/19      Seattle Humane Young Professionals helps animals in need, and brings young people together through meaningful and fulfilling volunteer activities and opportunities to socialize and build relationships with other animal lovers. Everyone from recent college grads to mid-career professionals are welcome. This group is catered to participants ages 21-35.  An annual $100 membership fee (with pro-rated options for those joining later in the year) provides the following benefits: Opportunity to give back to your community and volunteer with Seattle Humane. Both individual and group volunteer sessions will be available. Opportunities to network and meet with other young professionals with a passion for helping animals. Social events will occur throughout the year at various locations throughout the Seattle area.
