Back by popular demand...Catapalooza!

Can everyone in the back of the room hear the purring? Seattle Humane's Catapalooza returns this weekend June 30 through July 1. We weren't able to host Catapalooza in 2017 during our move into the new shelter but we're excited to bring back our biggest cat party of the year! Join us to meet adoptable cats and kittens, enjoy cat-themed crafts and feline fun for the whole family.

Our staff speakers will also give talks on "The First 72 Hours With a New Cat," "Catification," and "The Key to Happy Vet Visits," and more, the purrrfect way to spruce up your cat expertise if you plan to adopt or would like to become more cat-savvy. Hundreds of cats and kittens will be available to bring home for a suggested donation. We are open 11 a.m to 8 p.m. on June 30 and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on July 1. Independence Day Closure

Everyone here at Seattle Humane wishes you a bright and cheerful Independence Day. We are closed to the public on Wednesday, July 4 but will resume regular hours on July 5 if you'd like to adopt a new friend. See adoptable pets at seattlehumane.org.

If you and your dog/s would like to unwind with some exercise before the stress of holiday fireworks and other acitivities, there's still time to register for Downtown Bellevue's Four on the 4th Jog & Walk. This fun and festive 4k benefits the animals at Seattle Humane. We'll be onsite with our MaxMobile and adoptable pets! Register to walk: Learn more »

Seattle community raised $400 at our 2018 Doggie Drag Contest!

Doggie Drag.jpg

The Doggie Drag Contest at Cal Anderson Park was another huge hit at Seattle Pride! A total of 38 dogs competed in a live stage show. The contest entries raised more than $400 alone for Seattle Humane's Pet Project, which provides basic veterinary care, pet food and supplies to the pets of people living with HIV/Aids or cancer. We had an awesome time presenting this popular event with our emcee, Nicole Brodeur, as well as our fantastic panel of drag queen judges including Gaysha Starr, Donnatella Howe, Kara Sutra, Siren/Haily "Ms. Gay Seattle," and Gina King. Thank you to everyone for the lively costumes and commentary!

Check out photos from this year's contest here. We also had a fantastic turnout at the Seattle Pride Parade. Thank you to everyone who came out to support community and stand up for love. Did you participate? Click here to view parade photos!
