Dear aze, When 8-year-old Zoey (pictured above) arrived at Seattle Humane just before Thanksgiving last year, her sweet, gentle nature made her an instant favorite among our staff and volunteers. This easygoing senior pittie mix loved going on walks, playing fetch in the yard and cuddling with people.  Despite her lovable personality, Zoey spent over 130 days waiting to be adopted. Unfortunately, older pets like Zoey often have to wait much longer in shelters. According to the ASPCA, only 25% of senior dogs in shelters find homes. Their age, potential medical needs and the time and financial commitment required can cause adopters to pass them by, no matter how affectionate, housebroken or calm they may be.  That’s why your support during GiveBIG is so crucial. Saving Kittens Snap, Crackle & Pop!

Dear aze, Archie (FKA Snap) was just a tiny, underweight kitten when he arrived at Seattle Humane through a Lifesaver Rescue transfer from Texas. Along with his littermates, Crackle and Pop, he was battling an upper respiratory infection and needed special care before he could be adopted.  Make a gift today to help more kittens like Archie! Archie was placed in a loving foster home where he could rest, recover and grow stronger. Just two weeks later, he was back on campus, healthy and ready to find a home. Thankfully, his adorable kitten antics meant he didn’t have to wait long. His adopter shared with us that, “When I came to meet with him, we connected instantly. He even tried to jump out of the enclosure to follow me home right then and there.” Today, Archie is living his best life. He spends his days chasing toys, asking for treats and cuddling up with his person. “I really could not ask for a better cat. Archie may be a cat, but he is also my best friend.” GiveBIG Today! Dear aze, Washington state’s largest online fundraising event, GiveBIG, is only a week away, and it’s kitten season! As the region’s largest shelter and pet resource center, Seattle Humane is busy with young pets year-round, but we see an especially large surge in intakes of young kittens and momma cats during the spring. While it’s undoubtedly the cutest time of year, caring for the constant stream of tiny, medically fragile patients is time-consuming and expensive.  The good news?
