Animal lovers from all around our community have come together to give generously to ensure local pets in need will continue to receive the love and expert care they deserve. We are so close to our goal of $180,000. And we couldn’t be more grateful for our caring community!
 
Your Day of Giving gift will help pets like George, who came to us from a shelter in Houston. Picked up as a stray, George was found with a leg that was so seriously injured, it had to be amputated.
 
Just days after his surgery, a severe winter storm devastated much of Texas, including the shelter where George was recovering. George spent a week in their care before he was finally on a transfer vehicle and headed for Washington.
 
When George arrived at Seattle Humane, our intake, medical and behavior teams were ready to greet him. Though tired from the long journey, George entered the room and sniffed the staff members closely watching him. Then, George brought them a toy and placed his head on their knees.
