The past six months have challenged Seattle Humane like no other time in our history. But through resiliency and ingenuity, core Seattle Humane values, we have risen to the challenge. Since March when we closed to the public, we have: - Cared for and provided support to hundreds of adoptable animals through our network of volunteer foster homes
- Successfully (and safely) shifted to curbside adoptions and over 600 pets went home with loving new families
- Performed lifesaving medical procedures for pets of families in crisis facing economic challenges
- Distributed more than 73,000 pounds of pet food and provided resources to families struggling with the economic impact of COVID-19, helping to keep pets in their homes
Although Tuxes & Tails may be quite different than past galas, the opportunity to come together virtually to celebrate the generosity of our supporters who passionately believe animal companionship should be accessible to everyone continues. As we look to the future, we are excited to take the lessons learned and innovations implemented over the last six months to continue providing the best possible outcomes for the thousands of pets we serve each year in the shelter, in foster, and in the community. With your continued support, we will build on this period of transition and transformation to make the future bright for the animals who need us most.
