Venus -- along with 70 other dogs -- were rescued by authorities from a sad situation in Texas. The dogs were hungry, thirsty, scared and in need of medical care.

Transferred to Seattle Humane through our Life-Saver Rescue Program and adopted into a loving home, the difficult life Venus had would be soon behind her.

Today, Venus lives in the Cascade foothills with her doting family. She enjoys trips to the dog park, playing with toys, going on walks and goofing around with her new best friend, the next-door neighbor's dog.

Venus showers her family with affection -- the affections all dogs deserve to give and receive.

Pet Spotlight: Bruno
Bruno, a 3-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier mix, is an awesome dog in need of an awesome family. He’s 60 pounds of goofy sweetness! He recently had knee surgery, so we’re restricting his exercise to help with the healing. It’s been hard for Bruno because if there’s one thing he loves, it’s chasing and fetching tennis balls! While Bruno is a big cuddle-bug with people, he struggles when it comes to other dogs, and he will need an experienced adopter willing to continue his training on dog reactivity.
