Update: Seattle Humane transfers in pets from California

Updates from Seattle Humane
Update: Header

By now, you’ve heard about the wildfire devastation in California. Animal shelters are overrun with pets lost or separated from their owners and Seattle Humane is stepping up to help. We’ve transferred dozens of animals from overcrowded shelters this week and will deploy our rescue vehicles today to drive to Yreka, California to transport even more animals to safety.

Seattle Humane will not take in pets separated from their owners. Instead, we’re rescuing pets who were homeless prior to the wildfires or have been relinquished since. This will open up space in crowded California shelters that can be used for displaced pets, which will increase their chances of being reunited with their families.

Laguna arrived on a flight late Tuesday night and was among the first to be transferred this month.
