Seattle Humane’s Day of Giving is here! And thanks to our friend Jim Kesl, all donations made right meow will be matched dollar for dollar in honor of his rescue kitty, Archie—up to $15,000! This means your gift will go twice as far to give more care, complete more families and so much more.
Seattle Humane’s youngest patients rely on the kindness of strangers before their eyes even open. Born blind, ear canals closed, and unable to regulate their own body temperature, a kitten’s chance of survival without their mother is slim to none. Add in an especially hardy strain of calicivirus this season and more ringworm cases than we care to count, Seattle Humane staff and volunteers have their hands full this year. Saving these sweet kittens and cats is a lot of work. But it’s so worth it.
Fragile cats and kittens are coming in every day, and they need your help. Show these sweet pets you care by donating to Team Cat today. Make a gift of any amount and it will be matched dollar for dollar until midnight!
GIVE TODAY THROUGH FRIDAY AND YOUR GIFT WILL BE DOUBLED!
Our 125th Anniversary Day of Giving is TOMORROW! It’s rewarding to see how many animal lovers have stepped up to support the compassionate care Seattle Humane provides for pets and the people who love them. People from all walks of life, like Vincent and his two pups Doug and Sheeba.
“I had totally fallen apart and was in self-destruction mode.”
Vincent was without a job, addicted and broken after a painful break-up with his fiancée of almost 10 years. He had lost his home and eventually his car—the car he had been living in with his two dogs. In his words, he had totally fallen apart and was in self-destruction mode.
Vincent needed help, but to start, he needed temporary care for his two dogs. With support from Seattle Humane’s SPOT program, Vincent was able to seek in-patient treatment for his substance use disorder and mental health issues. Vincent has since started a new full-time job, re-enrolled in school and is on track to complete his master’s degree in social work. Vincent was happily reunited with his pups after he had stabilized his life.
“Thank you so much for everything you have done for me. This allowed me to get my life back together, to get back on my feet. Thank you for helping me through these struggles.”
We share a belief with you, our Rescue Squad, that pets belong with their people. Your gift during our 125th Anniversary Day of Giving fundraiser helps keep hundreds of pets with their people each year by offering temporary housing when their owners need time to address housing insecurity or other life emergencies. We cannot do this important work without you!
