Be a lifesaver...
Thousands of kittens need your help.
Imagine being sick, hurt or abandoned—having no place to go and no relief from your pain. Thousands of newborn cats are in this situation right now during the height of kitten season, and they depend on people like you and me to help them get what they need.
Your support makes it possible for us to provide the shelter and medical care they desperately need and the second chance they deserve.
Give Now
We invite you to support the food, shelter and care of our tiniest patients by becoming a Feline Friend, Kitten Caregiver or Humane Hero during this busy time.
Since your donation is critical to saving more teeny tiny lives, we wanted to give you an exclusive sneak peek at some of our sweetest, most thankful former residents.

Every Lost Pet Deserves To Be Found

June is National Microchipping Month! Microchipping is an easy, safe and effective way to make sure your pet always makes their way back home to you if your furry family member goes missing. Few experiences are more gut-wrenching than losing a pet—the owners of the approximately 10 million lost pets each year know this all too well.

Learn more from Christina, Interim Head of Shelter Care, about the importance of chipping your pet and where you can find affordable microchipping in our community.

Featured Pet: Joe

Joe was just a 3-month-old puppy when he first came through our doors two years ago. Through no fault of his own, Joe found himself back in our care in early March. This 2-year-old pointer mix is an energetic boy who would love to go home to an active family that will take him on adventures. He walks well on a leash and loves his chew toys! When he's done having fun outside, Joe is a big cuddle bug. He sometimes gets overexcited and forgets his manners, so he would do best with a family committed to his ongoing training. Joe is sensitive to loud noises and would do best in a quiet neighborhood. Joe has lived with other dogs previously, but his play style can be a lot and he would benefit from meeting any potential canine companions before going home.

More than a Shelter: Neighborhood Clinic with Burien Community Center

The animal welfare organizations and community veterinary clinics in our area only meet 12.6% of the need within our community–with some areas sadly having zero veterinary clinics. Through partnerships with community organizations and generous funding from PetSmart Charities, Seattle Humane’s Neighborhood Clinics are expanding access to affordable veterinary care in neighborhoods that need us most, thus preventing pets from entering the shelter system and keeping them with their loving families.

We partnered with Burien Community Center last month to host a free clinic thanks to a PetSmart Charities Incubator grant. There was a great turnout from the Latino community in South Seattle and we provided 31 dogs and 10 cats with veterinary care and resources throughout the day! The veterinary team administered 26 microchips, 53 vaccines and we were able to schedule 13 fully subsidized spay/neuter surgeries. We also provided over 167 pounds and 42 cans of pet food along with pet supplies.

Whatever the challenges may be, Seattle Humane is here to lift up our community–always with compassion and the highest quality of care. But we cannot do this work alone! Please consider making a gift today ensuring that no pet needlessly suffers due to a lack of resources or medical care.

Set Your Love in Stone

Immortalize a loved one, honor a pet or show your individual or company’s support by purchasing a personalized brick that paves the way to Seattle Humane’s adoption lobby. The name of your special person or pet will live on, where their memory will be cherished while creating an impact on the lives of those who need us today. We invite donors and their honorees to attend a small reception on Saturday, October 5, so you will be among the first to see your personalized tribute set in stone. Don't miss out on this special celebration!

The deadline is coming up — order your brick or paver by July 31.

Foster Spotlight: Dedicated to Fostering for Decades

Hiliary Anderson says fostering with Seattle Humane has been one of the most rewarding experiences of her life, and she should know–she’s been doing it for more than 20 years! While saying goodbye is always bittersweet, she knows a foster going home makes room in hers for another pet in need.

Learn more about Hiliary on our blog.

Wealth Management Firm Volunteers Make a Difference for Pets in Need

We are so grateful to clients and staff from wealth management firms Wealthspire, Baird and Charles Schwab for joining us at the shelter in May. These groups came in to learn more about our work at the shelter with an in-depth presentation and behind-the-scenes tour. While with us, they also made adorable no-sew blankets for the pets in our care. Whether working with clients on more technical things like Donor Advised Fund and Qualified Charitable Distributions, or whether it's making a no-sew blanket, the time and expertise of these financial and wealth management professionals makes a profound difference in the lives of pets in need. Thank you to these amazing partners for their time and generosity!
