LAST CHANCE TO GIVE - Summer Fund Drive 2024
Dear aze,
This summer is going as expected—busy as ever!
Litters of puppies and kittens are arriving by the barrelful right now. They’re so cute and even more precious and vulnerable. But the rush is stretching our staff and resources thin, and there are still many other hurt and lonely pets in need of care.
In the midst of a national ongoing overcrowding crisis, your generosity couldn’t mean more, especially to Seattle Humane’s youngest patients who need extensive care.
Give Now
Every life has value. Every pet deserves love, safety and a chance to heal.
Please give immediately to help ensure that the most vulnerable pets get a second chance at Seattle Humane this summer.
Gratefully,

Summer Fund Drive 2024 Vulnerable puppies and kittens need you!
The puppies are rolling in!
Dear aze,
Our busiest season is underway—as you can see! Puppies continue to arrive from overwhelmed shelter partners and while they are extremely cute, it is heartbreaking to see so many orphaned and oftentimes sick babies.
Every young patient we treat will have unique needs, and we are already stretching our resources to care for them while continuing to meet the needs of our adult shelter pet population. To continue saving as many lives as possible, we urgently need your help to provide for them all.
Whatever amount you can donate will make a life-changing difference for so many pets!
Give Now
With the support of our community to help fuel our Lifesaver Rescue transfers and power our state-of-the-art veterinary center, the puppies who come into our care this season will continue living the first year of their life as all puppies should: loved and cared for.
Thank you in advance for being a lifeline for pets in need and donating today!

May eNews | Mason County Dog Rescue Update & Celebrating a Paws-itively Fabulous Tuxes & Tails gala

We are grateful to our amazing veterinary staff

Mason County Rescue Update

We are grateful to our amazing veterinary staff for assessing all the dogs removed from inhumane conditions on a Mason County property last month and setting out individualized feeding plans to help them all gain weight at a healthy pace. It is thanks to wonderful volunteers and the generosity of our Rescue Squad (that’s YOU!) that we can support their care here on campus and in loving foster homes—as long as they need it.

Many of these dogs are now cleared for adoption—including sweet girl Nellie! Nellie came to us with very poor body condition, but continues her glow-up in a fantastic foster home. Nellie is now ready to find permanent accommodation with a loving and patient family who will continue showing her what it means to be part of a family.

Learn more about Nellie or make a donation to give safety and second chances to vulnerable pets just like her.

Tuxes & Tails was Paws-itively Fabulous!

Our Rescue Squad wagged those paddles high and together with generous corporate matching gifts raised $1.5 million in support of pets and the people who love them during our 2024 Tuxes & Tails gala Saturday night! We are so grateful to serve a community that comes together to support our work and mission when we need them most.

A huge thank you for making this such a memorable night.

Miss the paw-ty? You can still experience the fun by checking out this highlight reel and support our furry friends by making a gift today! Thank you for helping us create a better world for pets and their people!

Thank you for giving BIG!

We have FURR-bulous news! We exceeded our GiveBIG fundraising goal and owe it all to our community’s compassion for pets and their people.

GiveBIG donations of every size will cover all aspects of our work in the community in addition to every step of a shelter pet’s journey to a brighter future--including intake, veterinary care, food, an individualized behavior plan, foster care and adoption.

We are also grateful for the GiveBIG donors who joined our Furmily with a monthly gift to Seattle Humane. From all of us at Seattle Humane, thank you!

Featured Pet: Daisy Duck

Daisy Duck is an Anatolian shepherd mix who loves people, playing with other dogs, car rides, going on nature walks and getting to sniff all the things. This active young gal would benefit from having a confident, playful dog sibling in the home. Fill your summer with fun and snuggles with Daisy Duck!

Foster Spotlight: A Mother-Daughter Duo Saving Kittens

Kitten Season is ramping up as the days get longer and warmer. Many of these baby kitties will come into Seattle Humane too tiny to survive on their own and far from ready to be adopted. Gill Chang and her 17-year-old daughter, Tetra Riddering, are among a mighty team of foster parents responding to the almost constant needs of these small wonders. They started fostering kittens together in January 2023, Tetra having been inspired by The Kitten Lady YouTube videos. They’ve fostered more than 20 cats since then.

Learn more about Gill and her love for fostering felines.

Board Member Spotlight: Dr. Cherice Roth

Seattle Humane provides expert veterinary care to thousands of shelter pets and pets in our community through our Schuler Family Medical Center every year. We are working every day to increase access to affordable, quality veterinary care in the region we serve. We are more encouraged than ever with the addition of Dr. Cherice Roth to Seattle Humane’s Board of Directors, who brings to this leadership role more than a decade of veterinary experience.

Learn more about how Dr. Roth is adding a veterinary voice to Seattle Humane’s Board of Directors.

Be Prepared and Make a Difference: Our Night with Schwab Charitable

Thank you so much to our outstanding partners at Schwab Charitable for a great evening discussing upcoming estate tax changes! Our panelists also inspired the crowd with many other ways to leverage different assets to make a difference for pets in need (appreciated stocks and qualified charitable distributions from a retirement account, to name just two). One key takeaway from the evening was the importance of being prepared and asking the right questions of advisors early on to have the greatest impact. After all, preparation is all about recognizing when you are unprepared and taking that next right step! We hope everyone came away from the evening ready to take their own next right steps whether in their estate, financial or philanthropic planning journeys.

Now you tell us… what other topics in financial or estate planning might you be interested in? Natalie Pond, our Planned Giving Officer, would love to know. Reach her directly at nataliep@seattlehumane.org or 425-649-7554.
