Here’s how your gift helps strengthen the human‑animal bond!
aze,
Last week, I told you about Mia and her family’s escape from the war in Ukraine — and how support from Seattle Humane kept this family together when Mia got sick after they found a new home in Everett.
When you donate to Seattle Humane, you’re championing programs like the Pet Owner Assistance Fund that provided the support for Mia’s life‑changing dental surgery.

aze, your generosity doesn’t stop there! Together we’re strengthening the human-animal bond — and in a lot more ways than you might realize.
Seattle Humane is a regional pet resource center that offers a variety of community programs to support pets for a lifetime. All our programs reflect our bright future ahead, using the most current animal welfare best practices to support and uplift our community in innovative ways.
Your gift today helps pets and people in our community by supporting:
Our Schuler Family Medical Center provides affordable veterinary services to pets in need — breaking down financial barriers to quality care in our community.
Our Community Medicine program brings critical, low-cost veterinary services into the communities that need them most, creating safe spaces for pets outside our Bellevue campus.
Our Pet Food Bank serves nearly 82,000 meals per month to community pets in need — keeping local pets healthy, fed and with their families.
The Supporting Pet Owners in Transition (SPOT) program provides temporary foster care for pets whose owners are experiencing a personal crisis. The SPOT program provides peace of mind to the owner, valuable support and keeps bonded families together.
We know the best place for a pet is always in a safe home with people who love them.
But so many families are facing adversity right now. Record inflation, housing insecurity and a lack of affordable veterinary care options are tearing families apart. These neighbors need our help — and yours.
I hope you’ll make the life-changing decision to help support these programs and keep pets and families together. Together, we can ensure everyone knows the love of a pet despite any challenges they may face.
With respect and gratitude,

I'd like to share a story...

Mia and her family fled Ukraine, and Seattle Humane was here to help!

 ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

Help keep pets healthy, happy and with family!
aze,
I want to share a story that’s unlike anything I’ve shared with you before.
This incredible tale of love and the enduring bond of family is exactly why your support of Seattle Humane is so important.
I hope you’ll read it, and then make a donation to Seattle Humane to help save pets and keep them with the families that love them so dearly.

On the morning of February 24, 2022, Iryna, her daughter Diana and their Sphynx cat Mia woke up to explosions outside their home in Kharkiv, Ukraine.
Iryna packed a handful of personal items inside a small suitcase before racing her family to a nearby bomb shelter. They spent three days underground. Six months later, after a difficult journey through Slovakia and Austria, they arrived in Everett, Washington.
Shortly after, Iryna noticed that Mia was not well. Her teeth were loose, her gums were inflamed and she had a poor appetite. Sweet Mia did so well on their journey but was now suffering and the expense of dental surgery was too much for the family.
Fearful she would have to surrender the cat, Iryna reached out to Seattle Humane for assistance. “My daughter and I cry every day; we love our cat Mia very much. We wholeheartedly appreciate any help,” she told us.
Our Pet Resource Center was able to help Mia by providing funds and resources for a successful dental surgery! This meant that Mia could stay side-by-side with Iryna and Diana—giving them comfort in their new home.
aze, when you make a gift to Seattle Humane, you’re making a gift to help pets and families like Mia’s.
Cat
It’s painful to think about ever losing our furry friends. And it’s unimaginable to think a family like Iryna, Diana and Mia would have to split up after everything they’ve been through.
And yet, every year, financial hardship and many other unforeseen obstacles lead to thousands of families having to give up a beloved companion.
Seattle Humane has a suite of community programs — like our Pet Owner Assistance Fund — set up to give families facing hardship the support they need to continue caring for their pets.
I hope you’ll make the life-changing decision to support these programs working to keep pets and families together. Together, we can ensure everyone knows the love of a pet despite any challenges they may face.
